Summary

• Add a Zabbix 7.0 SNMP template for Cisco Industrial Ethernet 1000 Series switches.
• Monitor inventory, CPU, temperature, power, status, PoE, and IF-MIB interfaces.
• Include low-level discovery for interfaces and PoE-capable ports.
• Document installation, tested versions, discovery macros, and limitations.

Community guideline adjustments

• Add mandatory template, item, and trigger tags.
• Normalize numeric SNMP OIDs without a leading dot.
• Store PoE PD class as Numeric (float), because the tested IE1000 returns -1 when no usable PD class or powered device is detected.
• Use the recommended resource-template trigger severity range.
• Add author and source metadata.

Validation

• Exported from Zabbix 7.0.26 through the Zabbix API.
• Parsed successfully by Zabbix 7.0.26 configuration.importcompare without changing server configuration.
• Structural checks passed for 28 items, 2 discovery rules, 15 item prototypes, 7 direct triggers, and 2 trigger prototypes.
• Item and trigger tags, UUID uniqueness, SNMP OID formatting, YAML parsing, and whitespace checks passed.
• Runtime source verified on Cisco IE-1000-4P2S-LM, IE1000 Version saturn-3.05.03 / software 1.8.2.

A fresh standalone Zabbix import remains before this draft is marked ready for review; Docker was unavailable in the preparation environment.
