This major update brings significant personalization features, greater user control, and deep structural improvements for large displays, alongside vital bug fixes and optimizations.

New Features & Customization

  • Accent Color Customization: You can now replace the default blue accent color across the extension. Choose to automatically extract the accent color directly from your active wallpaper for a dynamic, cohesive look, or pick a specific custom color using the new color matrix.
  • Display Widget Overhaul: The former "Greetings" feature has been completely reformulated into a versatile "Display" module, giving you extensive control over your new tab: #48
    • Select exactly what you want to see: greetings, a clock (12h or 24h, with or without seconds), a date (numeric or written format), or a combined clock & date view.
    • Added a highly requested option to completely remove the icon/emoji from greetings for a cleaner, minimalist aesthetic.
    • Introduced new standard greetings, including custom messages tailored specifically for each day of the week.
  • Kagi Search Engine: Added support for Kagi in the search engine options (note: requires an active Kagi account and subscription). #47

Improvements

  • Large Screen & UI Scaling Support: Completely rebuilt the internal styling structure by migrating from px to rem. This provides native UI scaling, resolving previous issues where the interface appeared shrunken or disproportionate on high-resolution and large monitors.
  • Upgraded Favicon API: Switched the favicon fetcher from DuckDuckGo to Vemetrics. This ensures much wider website coverage and completely resolves the missing icon errors caused by the previous Google and DuckDuckGo APIs.

Fixes & Optimizations

  • Translation Context Fixes: Reviewed and corrected all UI languages, fixing various translation strings that were previously displaying out of context. If you notice any other untranslated strings, you can contribute at crowdin
  • General Performance: Applied various under-the-hood optimizations and minor bug fixes to ensure a smoother, faster experience.
