CalVer

Adrenaline and Additive are switching to CalVer as their versioning system. We previously used SemVer, but I think it makes more sense to use CalVer for these modpacks as there's no API involved and it gives the user more understanding of when a release came out just by looking at the version number. Minecraft also just switched to CalVer, so it's fitting.

• YY.MINOR.MICRO

Mostly the same as SemVer, but giving an actual meaning to the major version number, which previously always stayed at 1 (which is now the year of release)

I also added an mc tag to the Minecraft version to prevent confusion between pack version and Minecraft version. Here are a few examples of what Adrenaline/Additive versions will look like now:

• 27.1+mc26.1.fabric - minor version 1, of 2027
• 26.3+mc26.1.fabric - minor version 3, of 2026
• 26.4.2+mc26.1.fabric - patch 2 of minor version 4, of 2026

Backports to legacy versions

I've made one-shot backports to most of Adrenaline and Additive's unsupported versions to keep them close to the current design state. I still see a lot of people downloading older versions like mc1.16.5 and mc1.18.2, and those legacy versions were severely out of date, missing quite a few optimizations, and had a lot of unnecessary bloat. I may do these backports every once in a while if necessary.

Versions affected: mc1.16.5, mc1.18.2, mc1.19.2, mc1.19.4, mc1.20.4

This does not mean that these versions will be actively supported in the future. Please do not ask for support regarding these versions.

LambdaBetterGrass

BetterGrassify has been replaced with LambdaBetterGrass on all versions, since LambdaBetterGrass switched back to Fabric and I did not realize until just recently. Additive used to include LambdaBetterGrass back when we had separate versions for Quilt.

LambdaBetterGrass offers a far better looking better grass mode, along with lower quality modes.

Fast IP Ping, quick pack

Fast IP Ping and quick pack have been added to all versions of Additive. Fast IP Ping increases speed of DNS lookup for literal IPs, and quick pack heavily increases speed for loading large resourcepacks.

These are not included in Adrenaline for the same reason as FastQuit and Language Reload: It's generally out of scope for Adrenaline, where Adrenaline mostly just focuses on improving actual gameplay performance rather than other aspects of the game. However, if you have any opinions on changing Adrenaline's scope to also include these mods, let us know on this issue.

Replaced YOSBR with Config Manager

YOSBR has been replaced with Config Manager. Config Manager is nice because it has a better folder name ("modpack_defaults" rather than "YOSBR", which is more indicative to the user of what it's supposed to do), and because it has a feature that lets the user easily overwrite or entirely reset their config folder with the modpack defaults, which can help in the case of a corrupted instance or if you just want a fresh start.

Ixeris

Ixeris has been added to Additive as buffered raw input (Windows only) is now enabled by default and considered stable. This mod can have a noticable improvement in performance when using a mouse with a very high polling rate. See the mod page for more info. Please let us know if Ixeris causes any issues for you.

Ok Zoomer replaced with Zoomify

Ok Zoomer has been replaced with Zoomify as I personally prefer Zoomify's customization options. If you think this should be changed back, let me know with your reasoning on issue #110.

Removed RenderScale from 1.20.1/1.21.1

RenderScale causes water to completely stop rendering when the game is set to Fabulous graphics. This is only an issue on 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, so I've removed it from those versions.

Capes replaced with Capes Provider

For 1.21.1+. From their Modrinth description:
