Release notes:
This is the final release of PMD Core Ontology 3.0.0, stabilizing the redesigned ontology introduced during the 3.0 release candidates rc1 and rc2. This release consolidates structural updates introduced during the 3.0 development cycle and integrates community feedback gathered through issues, reviews, ontology playground sessions, and hackathons.
Major changes:
- Extended material, process, and property modeling concepts
- Refined temporal modeling (temporally qualified continuants)
- Enables explicit modeling of time-dependent material properties and states.
- Improves representation of evolving materials and processes.
- Enhanced semantic reuse across application ontologies (shifted concepts from application/domain ontologies to core).
- Improved interoperability with external/OBO-aligned ontologies
- Continued replacement of internal concepts with community ontology equivalents.
