• Every scanned file must include the one of the following lines:
  a) Copyright © YYYY Dell Inc. or its subsidiaries. All Rights Reserved.
  b) Copyright © YYYY-XXXX Dell Inc. or its subsidiaries. All Rights Reserved.

• You can have whatever prefixes or suffixes you want. They are ignored.

• Use the first format for new files. Use the second format as you edit older files. "YYYY" is always the year the file was created and "XXXX" is the current year when editing a file.

• The notice can be anywhere in the file. Best practice is to make it as close to the first line as possible.

• The notice can use either "©" or "(c)".

• The notice can be capitalized as in the examples or using normal English capitalization. Stick to what's above to avoid trouble.

• Copyright checker by default excludes .json , log. , *.md files

• Files may be excluded from scanning by adding an exceptions file to the repository. See exclusion_list functionality for Checker Service for details on configuring an exclusion file.
