A free Chrome extension that catches missing attachments, links, and CC recipients before you hit Send — on Gmail, Outlook Web, and Yahoo Mail. No account. No cloud. No data collection. Everything runs locally in your browser.
- Forgotten attachments — You wrote "see attached" or "please find" but forgot the file
- Missing links — You referenced a URL in your email body but didn't include it
- Empty CC field — You mentioned "CC'ing Sarah" but Sarah isn't in the CC field
Smart Email Guard scans your email compose window when you click Send (or hit Ctrl+Enter). If it finds trigger phrases without matching content, it shows a warning modal with two buttons: "Go Back" to fix it, or "Send Anyway" if you meant it.
See INSTALL.md for step-by-step instructions, or use the visual install guide.
- 100% local processing — your email content never leaves your browser
- Zero data collection — no analytics, no servers, no cloud
- No account required — just load the extension and it works
- See privacy policy
- Gmail (including new UI)
- Outlook Web (live.com + Office 365)
- Yahoo Mail
Smart Email Guard is free and will stay free. If it saves you from embarrassing "oops" emails, consider supporting development:
- $3.99/month or $29 lifetime — fund Pro development (regex, multi-language, cloud sync) and get early access when features ship
