Hello,

We noticed that the /?wc-ajax=ppc-simulate-cart endpoint is firing 2-3 times per minute regardless of user interaction.

Is it possible to change this behavior so that it only triggers when a user actively clicks on the Pay Later messaging, rather than running automatically in the background?

There is no existing configuration to restrict the endpoint to fire only on user click. If you’d like to disable this automatic background behavior, you can do so with the following filter:

add_filter('woocommerce_paypal_payments_simulate_cart_enabled', '__return_false');

This will prevent the endpoint from firing automatically.

Again we have a problem with this endpoint. We have turned off Pay Later messages, we don't have Pay Later enabled, and we don't have Express Checkout enabled.
We have added these filters to our theme:
add_filter('woocommerce_paypal_payments_product_buttons_paylater_disabled', '__return_true', 1);
add_filter('woocommerce_paypal_payments_buttons_paylater_disabled', '__return_true', 1);
add_filter( 'woocommerce_paypal_payments_simulate_cart_enabled', '__return_false', 1 );
add_filter( 'woocommerce_paypal_payments_simulate_cart_prevent_updates', '__return_false', 1 );
But this endpoint still fires. Is there some way for us to turn this off, or is this some functionality that is needed in order for the plugin to work normally?
We have only enabled PayPal payment and credit card payment, both on our checkout page only.

Keep in mind that for that filter, the priority difference has no practical effect with PayPal Payments.
