Debian‑GitOps: Debian (native) port - community interest?

The host layer is replaceable; a native Debian port (LXC, no PVE) appears to be a manageable adaptation: Would a Debian path be interesting in practice?

Still, there are likely no benefits over PVE, but added maintenance. However, had it in mind and already encapsulated in base/roles/container.

So this thread puts the idea up for discussion.
Alternatively, guess there’s enough to do by focusing on PVE only 🙂

Following up about Debian:

An approach could be using Incus (LXD). Offers an API similar to Proxmox, supported by an official Ansible collection (community.general.incus).

Would allows to keep the existing workflow, with changes only in /base/roles/container role. Refactoring might be justifiable as the core logic stays the same.
