Following up on #63 and #73
Worked on building splitsh-lite yesterday and it's not a great experience with libgit2 continously advancing (1.7 is now minimum on Gentoo, and elsewhere, while current stable is already at 1.9), but git2go seems all but dead libgit2/git2go#960 and can't keep up with even the simplest updates.
I'm not a Go person, but still wondering if there's a realistic alternative to git2go, or we're kinda stuck here for foreseeable future?
EDIT maybe if a CI build job could be installed here, that would help just download binaries and not worry about details. Does this idea align with maintainers here?
