Mate Engine already allows up to 9 avatars simultaneously and supports synced dances. It would be amazing if multiple avatars could engage in richer, spontaneous interactions with each other, not just synchronized animations triggered by the user.
Suggested interactions:
· Avatar-to-Avatar Chat: Two avatars autonomously talk to each other using their AI backends, with speech bubbles visible to the user.
· Emotional Contagion: If one avatar shows happiness, nearby avatars mirror or react (laugh, clap). If one is sad, others approach and comfort.
· Item Passing: One avatar can “hand over” a cosmetic item or prop to another, with a smooth hand-off animation.
· Shared Mini-Games: Rock-paper-scissors, catch, or simple ball games between avatars initiated by clicking one and dragging towards another.
· Social Chain Reactions: Clicking avatar A might cause avatar B to respond—e.g., poke A and B giggles.
· Formation Mode: Align multiple avatars into a grid or line, then issue a single command (bow, jump, dance) that they all perform in unison with slight offsets.
All interactions should hook into the animation system, AI chat, particle effects, and the future blueprint system, allowing the community to script even more complex social behaviors.
