Live Server not updating

Launching an HTML file runs the external browser (Microsoft Edge) rather than the internal sidebar browser (VSC), along with it not updating live to commitments made.

any help much appreciated (I could also be very silly)...

I'm having the same problem, but with Firefox. I use Notepad++ to edit my html files, and Live Server used to refresh the browser page on save, but no matter what I do (turn webext off, turn autosave on, change the port, various other googled solutions, incl. re-installing Live Server), nothing works. I checked that my firewall isn't blocking it, and I'm on the latest versions of Live Server, Notepad++, and Firefox, using Win10.

I see in the inspector/network tab (turned caching off) that the websocket is being established, and when I manually reload the changes appear... but Live Server isn't triggering the reload when the file is saved.

Found that it's not my NAS, Firefox, or even VS Code that isn't registering smb changes - it's definitely just liveserver. Putting the files on my local machine makes it work again, but that's not feasible for the entire project.

You can do a chokidar var to help for now, but... an actual update would be cool.
