Creating 'log' directory produces an issue when running application from a directory without write permission

I found SciLuigi creates 'log' directory and writes out internal log files in there. But this produces an issue that the application cannot run if it is running from a location without the write permission. Perhaps we should have an option to turn off the entire internal logs which includes creating the 'log' directory on the current path. Or we can probably have an option to specify base directory for this log directory and files.
