In a 2 vs 2 game, if one of your teammates drops out, that teammate will definitely lose, so it seems like you need to take measures like calling it a no game when someone drops out lol

A huge issue with this would be that you would have a person drop out every time they are about to lose. As unfortunate as it is, we can't completely negate a loss as your teammate left

GeoGuessr has a pretty good system: first you search for a team mate, then you search for a game.
Teams (duos) are persistent, you don't change teammate every game until you do want to change it (by searching for another player, effectively creating a new team).

This somehow circumvents the issue stated above: if your teammate is abandoning games, you simply stop playing with him.

Worth noting that GeoGuessr rating system rates the team (duo), not individual players.
