Currently, gvproxy is forced for FreeBSD guests as a workaround.

I need to verify if this is still valid and provide instructions how to reproduce the issue.

FreeBSD boot doesn't work in krunkit ootb, it does with libkrun 1.17.4 and specific guest configuration (serial console instead of virtio).
