Dealing with iOS ramdisk.dmg

The ramdisk size is 170mb I want to copy it it new img soxwhen I mount it it show 684 mb so how to get it into 200 mb dmg is there issue with preserving compression I am using the module on android device with kernel 4.14 I hope there is a fix or I am using it wrong .. I create the new dmg with dd and format it with apfsprogs utilities

I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to say, but compression is never preserved by file copies with this driver.

I mean my ramdisk.dmg is 170mb I wanna create new ramdisk.dmg to add space and extract ssh files so I create new one with 250mb and format it with mkfs.apfs provided with the module .. then when I mount them and copy files from the original to the new bigger one it says no space left . This process is done in Mac os with hdiutil with this commands

hdiutil attach -mountpoint /tmp/SSHRD ramdisk.dmg -owners off
hdiutil create -size 300m -imagekey diskimage-class=CRawDiskImage -format UDZO -fs APFS -layout NONE -srcfolder /tmp/SSHRD -copyuid root ramdisk_new.dmg
hdiutil detach -force /tmp/SSHRD
hdiutil attach -mountpoint /tmp/SSHRD ramdisk_new.dmg -owners off
tar -xf ssh.tar -C /tmp/SSHRD/
hdiutil detach -force /tmp/SSHRD
hdiutil resize -sectors min ramdisk_new.dmg

Can I achieve this with apfs kernel module?

The module doesn't do compressed writes, so you'll need to make the target ramdisk much bigger. I think it would be better to resize the ramdisk in place instead of copying everything to a new one. We have an internal tool for that at my company, maybe it will be public eventually.

Yes resizing will fix my issue I guess I hope it will be public I actually builded on top of my android kernel and mounting working fine
