AI Terms of Service

MarKing provides AI-assisted writing features, including AI Format, Inline AI (continue/polish/translate/summarize), and AI Writing Flow (Compose/Outline). Please read the following terms carefully before using these features.

1. Data Flow

  • When using AI features, your selected text or note content is sent to a third-party AI service you configure (e.g., OpenAI or other compatible APIs).
  • Requests are transmitted via HTTPS to the service's API endpoint.
  • MarKing itself does not store, relay, or log the content you send to AI services.

2. Third-Party Service Constraints

  • Different AI providers have different privacy policies and terms of service. You should read and understand your chosen provider's terms before use:
  • MarKing is not responsible for the privacy practices or data handling of third-party AI services.

3. API Key Security

  • Your API Key is encrypted with AES-256-GCM and stored locally. It is never uploaded to any MarKing-operated server.
  • Please safeguard your API Key and do not expose it in public (e.g., GitHub Issues, screenshots).

4. Content Responsibility

  • AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or inappropriate material.
  • You are responsible for reviewing and verifying AI-generated content and assume full responsibility for any content you ultimately publish.
  • Do not use AI features to generate illegal, infringing, or harmful content.

5. Service Availability

  • AI feature availability depends on the status of your configured third-party AI service.
  • MarKing does not guarantee continuous availability of AI features and is not liable for losses caused by third-party service interruptions.

6. Fees

  • Using AI features may incur charges from third-party AI services, as determined by your agreement with that provider.
  • MarKing does not charge any AI usage fees.

7. Prohibited Uses

You must not use AI features to:

  • Generate or distribute illegal, infringing, or harmful content
  • Perform prompt injection or other attack behaviors
  • Attempt to bypass AI provider safety restrictions

By using MarKing's AI features, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these terms.
