New icon set: thesvg (5,600+ brand and cloud icons)

Hi, I maintain thesvg, an open source icon library with 5,600+ SVG icons.

What it includes:

• 4,019 brand logos (each has a mono variant with currentColor)
• 739 AWS Architecture icons
• 626 Microsoft Azure service icons
• 214 Google Cloud Platform icons

Why it might be useful for Iconify:

• The mono variants of brand icons use currentColor and follow standard SVG practices
• Cloud architecture icons (AWS/Azure/GCP) are not available in any current Iconify set
• All icons are in a public git repo with a standard folder structure

I understand Iconify prefers monotone icon sets. Would the mono brand variants qualify? Or would the cloud icons as a separate set (e.g., prefix "aws", "azure", "gcp") be of interest?

Happy to provide any additional information or make adjustments to the SVG format if needed.

Looks good.

Because licenses are different for aws/azure/gcp sets, I'll split them into separate icon sets.

Additionally, monotone/colored versions are both useful, but also due to Iconify limitations (one type of icons per set), I'll split them into two sets: monotone and color.

So that would be 5 sets total: brands monotone, brands color, aws, azure, gcp. I think that will work.

Any preference on icon set prefixes? Or something like thesvg, thesvg-color for brands would do?

sounds great, splitting by license and mono/color makes total sense.

for prefixes something like this maybe:

• thesvg - brands monotone
• thesvg-color - brands color
• thesvg-aws - AWS architecture
• thesvg-azure - Azure architecture
• thesvg-gcp - GCP architecture

happy to build the Iconify-compatible JSON exports on our end if that speeds things up. just let me know the format you need or if you'd rather pull directly from our repo.

AWS cannot be added due to license (forgot that I already tried that and initially didn't notice license)

For other sets there are too many problems with icons.

K8S icons have some icons with text elements and one broken icon that contains HTML with link

Brand icons have mix of licenses: MIT, CC0-1.0, GPL-2.0, Proprietary, Fair use, which makes many icons impossible to use. Only about 600 icons out of 4k+ are MIT.

thanks for the detailed breakdown and for adding GCP. will fix the broken SVGs this week.

on the license side, the brand icons follow the same model as simple-icons where the SVG code itself is MIT but the brand trademarks belong to their respective owners. would that work if we standardize the license field to MIT for all the SVG code we authored?

for k8s we'll clean up the text elements and fix the broken configmap icon.

will update here once the fixes are in.

Excellent, then all icons can be imported as MIT.

I've tried adding main logos, skipping all broken files.

Works fine for color icons. Resulted in 4203 icons, so some were skipped.

However, then I tried adding monotone icons. Monotone icons are not monotone for many icons. First few icons that fail: aero, anb, askverdict-ai, austrian-airlines, chime, glincker and I didn't check further.
