Starting from v4.0.0, expo-iap is now developed and maintained in the OpenIAP monorepo. This repository will no longer receive updates, bug fixes, or new releases.
What's changing
expo-iap has been part of the OpenIAP ecosystem as a standalone repository, providing a first-class Expo Modules experience for in-app purchases. With the introduction of OpenIAP Spec 2.0.0, we've consolidated all framework libraries into a single monorepo to provide a unified development experience.
This means:
What you need to do
expo-iap) and installation command (npx expo install expo-iap) remain exactly the same. Why the move?
All OpenIAP framework libraries — react-native-iap, expo-iap, flutter_inapp_purchase, godot-iap, and kmp-iap — are now unified under OpenIAP Spec 2.0.0. One APIs, one spec, one source of truth across every platform.
Benefits of the monorepo:
Documentation
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this repository over the years. We look forward to continuing the journey together in the monorepo.
⭐ If you find OpenIAP useful, please consider giving a star to the new monorepo — it helps other developers discover the project!
