yes this would be best option in my use case, I need search by linkTitle only, but search by title works well too; is that possible to configure "search by heading level 1 only"? It can make index very small and efficient in my "Dictionary" use case

min_match_char_length documentation is unclear. Does that mean that min_match_char_length: 25 will ignore titles and subtitles whose length is 25 characters or more? For example:

# Hello World! This is my main article title, and its' length is at least twenty five characters.

And search results will show only main (long) title? And will it happen at indexing time? Thanks

I don't understand, it's powered by a JavaScript library that runs on the browser, not Hugo.

You can find all the information on fusejs.io, as well as a live demo, it's beyond my scope to answer, if you have any further questions about options and algorithm, please take a look at fusejs.io.

Lastly, the workflow for the search module.

1. Generate index.json for Fuse.js to search through. This process takes place in Hugo.
2. Once the page loads, the module will load index.json and search when submitting the search form. This process takes place in the browser.

And will it happen at indexing time? - I mean, indexing can "index" everything, but UI can be configured to ignore some fields; or, "at indexing time" means that non-match won't be in the index.

Unfortunately, setting min_match_char_length: 25 doesn't filter this from the index:

I'll try to make some changes in this module & share it to make things clear...

For example, I will comment out this section and it will make index size 50x smaller (I can override just this file in my project)

So, setting min_match_char_length: 100 for example won't remove Heading from the index even if its size is smaller than 100, this is what I meant...

min_match_char_length is search option, it won't affect the size of index.json...

I'm getting tired of answering detailed questions. If you're interested in the principles, please read the source code and Fuse.js docs, you can find the answers without asking.
