Tray icon for the Qt frontend

Hello there!

It has been a while since I last came here.

I'm really glad the Qt frontend is a reality!
I just gave it a quick go, and it is already pretty usable with my UCX.

If I were to say I kinda missed something was there, it would probably be a system tray icon and the ability to start minimized to it.

Regarding the icon - Thanks for the hint! Now I see... You're right. Looks my AppImage build script doesn't embed the app icon correctly. Will fix that soon. Or did you mean sth other with "system tray icon"?

Regarding start minimized - Do you mean sth like a command line param? for example a -m like ./oscmixQt_v0.0.1-alpha.5473385_linux-aarch64-AppImage.AppImage -m?

I remember, a TODO regarding the unknown registers for the MIX logic of UCX...
Yeah, I just looked into the device_ffucx.c comments...
Maybe, if you have some time, we could get back on this to fix it? So the UCX might be really usable for all regarding the submixes... I have an idea already how we could examine this and test... I case, let me know.

Well i fiddled about two hours regarding how the packaging works in linux for a proper AppIcon, lol... However, I think I got it at all (and beside this, i changed the Icon to fit the qt ui style). Its fixed in the latest nightly release.

It should now look like this (same for macOS/Linux variants):

Additionally, I read about how the tray icons work on linux systems. Will include this maybe tomorrow. However, if you could tell what principle you wish regarding "starting minimized" (command line or some other way), please lighten me up ;)

Thank you for the latest build. The icon looks nice, however a bit "low res" on my display (4K resolution):

Or did you mean sth other with "system tray icon"?

What I mean by "system tray icon" is having the application running in the background and having an icon in the system tray, like here (my current Gnome desktop):

On macOS, the location of the system tray is the same as in my Gnome setup.
On KDE and Windows, this is typically on the bottom right corner, close to the system clock.

This way, it's like a convenient, always-accessible way to quickly open the app and adjust volumes, routing, etc. and send it back to the background.
(I've always felt like this was missing from RME's app.)

Another Qt app that I regularly use that implements this is qpwgraph (https://github.com/rncbc/qpwgraph).
It does have options to start with the system, start minimized, close to tray, etc., which I find convenient as it leaves it to the user to decide how best to use the app.

Not a must-have, but a nice-to-have.

Hi, thanks! I think got it all now.

I'll come back to this (and your other two issues) soon...
Easter holidays = Spent more time with family than with nerdy stuff like oscmix - this is not my decision ;).

For the other two issues - Yes, I already thaught about how the connectivity could be more made rock-solid.
I just made a first step by implementing mdns(dns-sd) functionality to the core oscmix related stuff.

Although its already implemented as first shot in the Qt ui - had no time time to test. So this Qt ui state is not in the nightly release yet...

Hey, I just pushed some things with some additional guesses regarding the UCX and the MIX / MIX_LEVEL stuff...

It's already implemented and testable via the WebUI - the gh-pages my this repo.
The qt UI jobs are running atm and should be ready in the nightly in 10-20 minutes...
