🚀 UPDATED AIXBLOCK BUG BOUNTY SUBMISSION GUIDE

📋 Complete Process for Maximum Success

This guide reflects the actual requirements discovered during the AIxBlock bug bounty submission process.

🎯 CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS DISCOVERED

1. Repository Structure

  • Target Repository: AIxBlock-2023/aixblock-ai-dev-platform-public
  • NOT: AIxBlock-2023/awesome-ai-dev-platform-opensource (this was incorrect)
  • Fork Required: Must fork the correct repository
  • Star Required: Must star the repository before submission

2. Submission Process

  1. Star the repository (mandatory)
  2. Fork the repository (mandatory)
  3. Create GitHub issues for each vulnerability
  4. Create dedicated branches for each fix
  5. Implement actual code fixes in the repository
  6. Create pull requests with working code
  7. Link issues to PRs using "Closes #" syntax

3. GitHub Linking Requirements

  • Issues and PRs MUST be linked using proper GitHub syntax
  • Use "Closes #[issue-number]" at the end of PR descriptions
  • NOT just mentioning issue numbers - must use proper syntax
  • Visual chain-link icons should appear next to issues

🔧 STEP-BY-STEP PROCESS

Step 1: Repository Setup

# Fork the correct repository
gh repo fork AIxBlock-2023/aixblock-ai-dev-platform-public --clone

# Star the repository
gh repo star AIxBlock-2023/aixblock-ai-dev-platform-public

Step 2: Create Issues

# Create issues for each vulnerability
gh issue create --repo AIxBlock-2023/aixblock-ai-dev-platform-public \
--title "[SECURITY] [CRITICAL] Private Key Exposure in Web3 Authentication" \
  --body "Detailed vulnerability description..."

# Repeat for all 5 vulnerabilities

Step 3: Create Branches and Implement Fixes

# Create dedicated branches
git checkout -b bugfix/issue-345-private-key-exposure
git checkout -b bugfix/issue-346-sql-injection
git checkout -b bugfix/issue-347-code-execution
git checkout -b bugfix/issue-348-cors-misconfiguration
git checkout -b bugfix/issue-349-rate-limiting

# Implement actual code fixes in each branch
# Commit and push changes

Step 4: Create Pull Requests

# Create PRs with proper linking
gh pr create --repo AIxBlock-2023/aixblock-ai-dev-platform-public \
--title "Fix: Private Key Exposure in Web3 Authentication" \
  --body "## Fix Implementation
This PR addresses the critical private key exposure vulnerability identified in issue #345.

  [Detailed fix description...]

  **Researcher**: grich88 (j.grant.richards@proton.me)

  Closes #345"

Step 5: Verify Linking

  • Check that issues show chain-link icons
  • Verify PRs reference correct issues
  • Ensure all code fixes are implemented

🛡️ SECURITY VULNERABILITY CATEGORIES

Critical Vulnerabilities (CRITICAL)

  1. Private Key Exposure - Client-side private key access
  2. SQL Injection - Database query vulnerabilities

High Severity (HIGH)

  1. Code Execution - Unsafe code sandbox implementation
  2. CORS Misconfiguration - Wildcard origin vulnerabilities

Medium Severity (MEDIUM)

  1. Rate Limiting - Insufficient authentication protection

💰 BOUNTY REWARDS STRUCTURE

Severity Cash Reward Token Reward Count Total
CRITICAL $1,000 2,000 tokens 2 $2,000 + 4,000 tokens
HIGH $600 1,200 tokens 2 $1,200 + 2,400 tokens
MEDIUM $200 300 tokens 1 $200 + 300 tokens
TOTAL $3,400 6,700 tokens 5 $3,400 + 6,700 tokens

🔍 CODE IMPLEMENTATION REQUIREMENTS

Each Fix Must Include:

  1. Actual code changes in the repository
