cultural-references.md: add AI-relevant cultural reference domains #178

Description

@glacierphonk

Problem

cultural-references.md covers mythology, literature, and science as naming sources but doesn't mention cultural references specifically relevant to AI products. AI naming can draw from rich cultural territory:

AI-relevant cultural domains to add

Science fiction AI characters

Rich source material — but saturation varies:

  • Oversaturated: HAL, Skynet, Terminator, Matrix — overused, carry negative "AI will kill us" connotations
  • Moderately used: JARVIS (Iron Man), Data (Star Trek), Samantha (Her)
  • Underexplored: Wintermute (Neuromancer), Jane (Ender's Game), Cortana (Halo — already taken by Microsoft), Mike (The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress)

Information theory / computing pioneers

  • Claude Shannon, Alan Turing, Ada Lovelace, Charles Babbage, John von Neumann
  • Already used: Claude (Anthropic), Ada (various), Turing (various)
  • Less used: Shannon, Babbage, Hopper, Dijkstra, Knuth

Mythology of knowledge/wisdom

  • Athena/Minerva — goddess of wisdom (somewhat saturated)
  • Thoth — Egyptian god of writing and knowledge (underused)
  • Saraswati — Hindu goddess of knowledge, music, arts (underused in tech)
  • Odin — traded an eye for wisdom (specific sacrifice-for-knowledge metaphor)
  • Prometheus — brought knowledge to humanity (already used for monitoring)

Cognitive science concepts

  • Gestalt, schema, heuristic, qualia, metacognition — scientific terms with naming potential
  • Less saturated than mythology because they're less obviously "cool"
