Publishing Steps:

  1. Login to npm:
cd /Users/panayiotisgeorgiou/Git/laikoi-dromoi
npm login
  1. Publish the package:
npm publish --access public
  1. Verify publication:
npm view @panayiotis/laikoi-dromoi

After Publishing:

  1. Test installation:
npm install @panayiotis/laikoi-dromoi
  1. Update the React app:
cd /Users/panayiotisgeorgiou/Git/react-bouzouki-scales
npm install @panayiotis/laikoi-dromoi@latest
  1. Deploy to Netlify:
cd /Users/panayiotisgeorgiou/Git/react-bouzouki-scales
./setup-netlify.sh

Troubleshooting

If publish fails with "You must verify your email"

  • Check your npm account email
  • Verify it through the link sent by npm

If publish fails with "You do not have permission"

  • Use --access public flag for scoped packages
  • Make sure you're logged in: npm whoami

If types aren't working

  • Check that types field in package.json points to ./dist/index.d.ts
  • Verify declaration files exist in dist folder

Version Management

To update the version:

# Patch (0.1.0 → 0.1.1)
npm version patch

# Minor (0.1.0 → 0.2.0)
npm version minor

# Major (0.1.0 → 1.0.0)
npm version major

# Then publish
npm publish

Notes

  • prepublishOnly script automatically runs the build
  • Package is scoped under @panayiotis/
  • First publish requires --access public
  • Subsequent publishes just need npm publish
