Features for release 2.2

@gregorgorjanc and @darizasu I'm starting this issue to plan what we want in the next AlphaSimR release. Can you guys tell me what you'd still like to get into the devel branch before I release to CRAN?

I don’t have strong opinions - I am happy if you push on with the release now (there is quite a number of additions already) and we can keep adding other MultiPop functionality and error messaging etc. in 2.3. @darizasu do you have strong preference into which additions would you like to get into for 2.2?

I’m also fine with the 2.2 release now. We can target additional MultiPop functionality for 2.3.

One quick note: in PR #282 (merged into your MultPop branch), I added some entries to NEWS describing the current MultiPop work. The devel branch already includes the MultiPop changes up through #276, but those items aren’t fully reflected in NEWS on devel yet. The more complete MultiPop NEWS text is currently only on MultPop.

If you want the 2.2 release notes to include everything that’s already in devel, we should port the relevant NEWS entries from MultPop back to devel, or just 'combine' the current MultPop into devel.

Yeah, @gaynorr, just merge the current HEAD of MultPop to devel and prep for release. This means that any new stuff in MultiPop from "now" onwards will go to 2.3 or later version.
