This is just a consultation. I don't know if you have encountered such a problem. It seems that there are a lot of real-time transmission after pangolin is enabled. I use Alibaba Cloud in China, and as a rule, I have 20 gigabytes/month of free data in my country, and the excess part is charged at 0.8 yuan/GB. Strangely, however, pangolin seems to be consuming traffic at a very alarming rate, and I've already used more than 8 gigabytes of traffic in just three or four days. I have uninstalled pangolin and used the wireguard + nginx + authelia authentication framework instead of pangolin's zero trust, and traffic usage is now dropping significantly. I need a little more time to see if this traffic behavior is related to pangolin. And whether it is normal traffic consumption.
Although I have a lot of infrastructure, a lot of services are idle for me, and I have openvpn that is only routed when I access Google and docker. I'm very strange. My Hong Kong server is used to manage my VPN, and it only uses 4G, while the Shenzhen server where pangolin is deployed consumes too much traffic.
I feel that this kind of traffic transmission is very abnormal. In my opinion, the Shenzhen server should not be used more frequently than my Hong Kong server. Even my personal homepage, which is hardly visited by anyone, should not have such abnormal traffic. I feel very strange. And think that this may not be a normal flow. It wasn't until I uninstalled pangolin that the traffic began to fall back. I also need to observe to determine what the problem is.
