Primeval has been updated to Alpha 0.0.7 to fix a progression bug.

  • Breaking stone with a chisel will now correctly drop a stone block instead of 3-5 rocks

  • Fixed log piles not removing a log from the player when being placed in survival mode (Thanks MiDNeLiR!)

Primeval has been updated to Alpha 0.0.4 to fix some issues and add some translations.

  • Fixed the game failing to launch with More Culling installed
  • Fixed issues with some blocks (without items) showing as untranslated strings with HUD mods like Jade
  • Added (mostly complete) translations for Simplified and Traditional Chinese

Back from the dead...

  • Reworked ore generation to be easier to track down and being more valuable/populated when you do.
  • You can now make weaker pickaxes specifically for prospecting to help track down bigger ore veins from smaller or surface blobs.

It is basically required that you use REI as it has full support for the new recipes that are not described anywhere else.

Updated to 1.21.4.

Second Alpha Release. Primeval will remain in 0.0.x until I am happy with the foundational features in the mod, at which point 0.1.0 will mark the first 'full' release, and when the third digit will switch to representing patches instead of minor versions.

Additions

  • Farming is here!
    • Find wild carrots, wheat, cabbage, beans, and potatoes and plant them in your own farm plots.
    • Till dirt or clay with a hoe to create farmland, and fertilize it with bonemeal to accelerate the growth of crops
  • Added the Quern
    • Build a Quern and place a Quern wheel on top, and right click to crank it
    • Grind down particular items to produce dyes and grind bones down into bonemeal
    • Food-related uses for the quern coming next update
  • Added new plants to biomes
  • Added Gold and Lazurite Ores to find underground
  • Added dyes
  • New building blocks!
    • Dyed fired clay and fired clay shingles
    • Cheap crude bricks
    • Wicker wood block set
    • And more!
  • Logs can be stacked into log piles for storage or decoration!

Changes

  • Adjusted some ore distributions to be a bit more balanced and plentiful
  • Brick blocks are now made with cement created with wood ash instead of using clay as the binder
  • Wandering Trader will occasionally trade new plant seeds
  • Knives have a shorter attack reach but damage has been increased
  • Wooden (and a few other) items can be burned to ashes if the item is destroyed by fire

Fixes

  • Due to farming being implemented, carrot duping has been 'fixed' as food has become properly renewable.
  • Phantoms no longer spawn at night by default, since there are no beds

First Alpha release:

Notable Features:

  • Ore veins are rarely found in large clumps, finding items on the surface indicates the ore can be found in the occupied biome
  • Trees (and some other plants) grow dynamically over time
  • Clay items and ores are melted in a pit with a pit kiln rather than a furnace
  • Torches extinguish over time
  • Wandering Traders can spawn and be traded with to purchase or sell materials
