WebCalendar 1.9.1 on PHP 8.1 doesn't work and gives deprecated syntax errors

Hello, I just upgraded from WebCalendar 1.3 to 1.9.1 specifically so that I could upgrade my PHP version from 7.4 to 8.1

I performed the WebCalendar upgrade while on 7.4 and after the upgrade it still worked.
Then I switched the server to 8.1 and now WC won't load and instead I get this error:

Fatal error: Array and string offset access syntax with curly braces is no longer supported in /home/marc/public_html/_OTHERSITES/saanenmoeser/includes/gradient.php on line 138

This was fixed in a more recent version than 1.9.1.

What is the more recent version than 1.9.1?
I don't see anything more recent than 1.9.1 - can you send a link to the download and/or release info?
