[driver] Request for Virtualbox support in Linux

Please describe the question or issue you're facing with "How to set up the driver - Multipass documentation".

It is a pity that you don't support using VirtualBox as the hypervisor for multipass in Linux. It would make my life easier.

I understand @paaguti. Sadly, the driver is planned for deprecation. Extending support for it at this time is not possible. Is there anything that you require from Virtualbox specifically that you would not get with the libvirt backend?

Yes, it would be nice to have all the goodies of multipass locally and then publish the OVA for my students.

In theory it should still be possible to do using libvirt, lxd or even qemu, the sharing format and file location would be the only changes. If you want to copy the VMs for your students that is doable, the only obstacle would be loading them under another multipass daemon.

If you intend to share the images for usage within multipass, I would suggest you use a cloud-init file with all the commands and set-up necessary for the image sharing, that way your students can replicate it with Multipass.

It is important to note that both libvirt and lxd will be removed on 1.17.0
