In older versions of Stellarium, the default distance for the Solar System Observer location was hundreds of AU, I don't remember how many exactly. I liked using this feature to see the shapes of orbits from the outside, even for really distant objects like Eris. Is there a reason it was changed to a max of 50 AU in more recent versions?

It would be great if there was just the option to observe from a few hundred AU from the sun. Is it possible this could be changed back in an upcoming version?

There doesn't seem to be any alternative that I can see, unless there's some way of adjusting the distance farther than you can with Alt+End that I don't know about. I guess you could add another location option at a farther distance than Solar System Observer, but I don't know if there's any reason why that would work better than just making the max Solar System Observer distance larger.
