Thanks for the report. Quick context on what "CEC error" means: every 5 min a Celery task runs the libcec query in a sandboxed subprocess with a 10 s timeout (diagnostics.py:27-51) and caches the result in Redis. "CEC error" is the catch-all the API surfaces when cec.init() (or the subprocess as a whole) didn't return a recognisable on/off — most commonly because libcec couldn't find an HDMI-CEC adapter from inside the container.

To narrow it down on your Pi 5, could you run these and paste the output?

Working hypothesis (will confirm from the output above): on Pi 5 + Bookworm/Trixie the kernel CEC adapter is at /dev/cec0, but docker-compose.yml.tmpl only bind-mounts /dev/vchiq — i.e. step 2 will show no /dev/cec0 inside the container, which is why cec.init() finds no adapter even though the TV is connected and CEC-capable.

If the host (step 1) also can't see /dev/cec0 or cec-client reports no adapters, the issue is upstream of Anthias (kernel/firmware/config.txt — dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d, hdmi_force_hotplug, TV's CEC enabled in its menu).
