Since Gen 7, move effectiveness has been shown to the player before they use a move. Personally I consider this too easy -- it makes knowing type interactions unnecessary, and reveals information about the type of the opponent when the player might not actually know that species -- but players used to newer gens might miss it. It's similar to the Battle Style option, in that you can choose a non-default setting to make the game easier / more casual.
The question is how/where to display this information. There isn't room for full words, but one or two plus or minus signs could work. (Or if we have VRAM space for two more battle-specific tiles, use a circle and triangle like the Type Chart.) There's room next to the category+type icons. (It might look crowded, but it's off by default.)
(A few possible icon designs. I think using the type color makes it clear that they're icons, not text, and that they're related to the type of the move.)
