webpack fails to compile correctly

Hi,
I had the same problem, here how I solved it :

1. Take only the strictly same version of dependencies
   => in package.json remove all ^ characters in dependencies and devDependencies

2. Download Minecraft assets
   => you can find it here http://docs.overviewer.org/en/latest/running/#installing-the-textures

# worked for me
$ VERSION=1.12
$ wget https://s3.amazonaws.com/Minecraft.Download/versions/${VERSION}/${VERSION}.jar -P .

3. Set asset correctly in minecraft-chunk-viewer/assets dir
   => create assets dir in minecraft-chunk-viewer
   => uncompress 1.12.jar downloaded file
   => copy 1.12/assets/minecraft content in minecraft-chunk-viewer/assets

4. Then, just follow documentation

$ npm install
$ npm run build-assets
$ npm start

It will open a nav on 0.0.0.0:3000 with this great sample
