The song title does not fit on the display.

Hi, I have a Vectra C with a CD30 MP3 radio and a GID display. The display is single-line, so I only see the song title, but the title doesn't always fit on the screen. I saw in one of the threads that this might have been discussed before, but I couldn't find whether it was actually resolved. Is there a possibility to scroll the text when it's too long to fit?

It's on my roadmap but you should not expect this feature to arrive anytime soon due to the complicated nature of trying to make this work on all 4 types of the displays (TID/BID, GID 1-line and 3-line, CID). All of them seem to fit different amount of characters at once. Once I get my hands on a CID I'll attempt to figure out reading the display type, afterward I'll try to figure out the scrolling stuff.

Just tested both CD30MP3 (Delphi-Grunding) and CD70Navi (Continental) using MP3s burned onto CD-R and neither support scrolling song titles, they're cut off just like with EHU32. I have also investigated to check whether the display returns any data whenever text overflows (ie. the display received more text than it could fit) but it does not.
The other way would be to calculate the width in pixels for every character that could be displayed but it's probably too much work to implement, not to mention having to manually count pixels for all chars, times 3 because of three types of displays.

There's still chance that someone comes up with a better idea, but until then EHU32 will likely not support text scrolling.

If the songtitle is longer than 20 chars, i cut it at the last blank before char 20. At every refresh of the display, i show the next part of the title. It is not a perfect solution, but ist is good enough for me.
