Is it correct that I cannot find in which room a device is in, in MQTT. Is that not published?
So not which node it is connected to, but based on which room the device is, as shown on the ESPresense Companion map.
If not, is it possible to add this?
Use case:
I have an average-sized apartment and do not have (a need for) a node in every room. The location of devices on the ESP Companion map is pretty right. Then, for rooms where there is no node, it would still be possible to determine that the device is in this room. Now it shows one of the nodes in other rooms, also covering the room without a node.
Also, when I am in front of my apartment on a place where it is impossible to add a node. If this were implemented, I would still be able to determine when I am in a shared hallway, stairway, etc…
